Mine also does this with the lastest build. (0.1.13041) Not so much with changing speeds, except for pause. But if I have a lot of things built, I get terrible halts when trying to place tunnels. The Holo sim 1 is unplayable for me as well. I'll email you my save and specs.

This has been happening to my game also, even on its lowest settings. Any event that halts the game (Including hitting ESC) has caused my game to lag immensely. I just recently bought the game, and have the latest version.

UPDATE! The latest version (14081) fixed my lagging issues. I haven't done a full test yet, but I was able to make it through the Holo-Sim 1 with no issues! Outstanding!

I too have noticed significant frame rate drops during long periods of gameplay. I've previously played through 1000 population with significantly more buildings and natural events occuring with no issues, but my latest game has only gotten to only 700 and it seizes up if I go 8x speed. I haven't had any successful fixes when changing my settings and believe it may have something to do with the number of events occurring at once, i.e. hail storms, lightning, alien spores, farming, trading, manufacturing, and the pop-ups I'm receiving which at one point last night I was receiving far too many at once. Otherwise my normal gameplay experience is about 47-63 FPS with ~300 FPS in game lobby.

Thanks for the heads-up.  Let us know if it gets better or worse with the build we'll be uploading today (Dec 1).  We're also working to mitigate the notification spam.
