I noticed that for now, the direction in which the creeper/plague spores is highly predictable on each map.  They always come from one direction and spawn at the same spot.  I think this will probably change in the long-run, but for now, I discovered something fun about plasma turrets.  You place enough on the side of the colony facing where the spores come from, and the plasma turrets can zap the spores out of the sky before they ever hurt anyone.  Cool, huh?

I have a feeling, however, that eventually this will change.  To be more realistic, I think that the direction in which the creeper/plague spores will be more randomized before the game is finished.  But still, it's nice being able to stop them before they can cause harm.

Per the campaign mission briefings in the game's story mode the spores from from a nest in a specific location.

On your first run at a mission you won't know where it is and will probably get hit with a shard storm first anyway. If you choose to not prepare for either though and you do get hit by a creeper spore you get to see the devastation they can cause. I tried the last available campaign mission and finally saw them in action, jumping from building to building before my drones could purge them.

It would be interesting to see if killing them, or going after the nest (not likely) would result in some type of biotoxin material you could research.. yet another enhancer you could trade to the Mothership in orbit? But you'd only have access to it if you let the creeper infestation grow for a while. Even forcing you to make sure the infected buildings had living hosts inside (spoilers from The Expanse season one lol)

We've already fixed that locally.  The fix should make it into the next update we put out.

It's just Beta silliness.  I totally expected you guys to fix it.  That is an interesting concept, those things having a nest nearby.  Usually when I play the sandbox, they just appear out of thin air in their spawning spot and then float over.  They seem to be attracted to the buildings, though it's not clear why.

Yeah, I watched The Expanse, but I sincerely doubt the old lady in charge will let you do anything as insidious as what they did on Eros.  This game appears to be either rated E or T, and the NPC's all appear to be goody-two-shoes.  Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I don't believe the game is going to go for the depressing, dark, nasty stuff The Expanse has been showing.

I am aware that something isn't right (according to the story), that someone on the expedition is not who they appear to be, but on the surface, most of the NPC's seem to be nice people who want this colony to work.  The old lady suspects Kalandra of being up to something, though I'm not sure if she is or not.  Maybe it's someone else.  Maybe Kalandra's an alien agent in disguise.  Maybe the old lady is the villain.  Maybe it's the blond, I have no idea.  Maybe one of the men is an imposter.  Who knows?  It's all still a mystery.
