I press the esc button to exit the game but the menu just keeps disappearing no allowing me to exit. I have to do it via task manager.

I can confirm this bug.
Sometimes when you hit <ESC> the menu just blinks onto the screen for half a second or so, and then disappears. If you're really quick, you might be able to click save - but it's more miss than hit.
Sadly, I have been able to reproduce this bug reliably - meaning that sometimes the menu comes on and stays, and sometimes it disappears after half a second, and no matter what I do, I can't get it to stay.
